Switch 4/1

ITEC*NET

  • ITECNET is an audio network which is based on the IEE-802.3 Ethernet standards. Therefore, you can use existing network structures as well as all commercial components, such as network switches.
  • The ITECNET Switch 4/1 ensures that the entire network can be built using components providing equal reliability, longevity and robustness. The availability of structurally identical components and spare parts must be ensured for many years, which applies to network switches just as to all other ITECNET components. This enables us to always meet the requirements for EN 54-16 certification.
  • 24´VDC power for supply using EN 54-4 certified energy supply equipment.
  • System certified according to EN 54-16: EC conformity certificate no. 1293-CPR-0700

ITECNET is based on the Ethernet standard IEEE 802.3, layer 2, 100 Mbit/s duplex in principle. That means for setting up a network you can use all the standard components of the computer world for networking ITECNET devices without hesitation. However, the switches are system relevant components and need to be certified for the implementation in security sound systems according to EN 54-16. As leading manufacturers of network switches have no devices in their program to date, which are certified according to this particular fire alarm standard, we have developed a switch on our own and precisely tailored it to the ITECNET requirements. Among others, these are facilities with fiber optic connections for long distance transmissions and single-source 24 VDC power supplies (for a connection to certified power supply devices).

Display elements on the front-panel

Switch

  1. Power Indicator Block A
  2. LEDs for fiber-optic port A
  3. LEDs for ports 1-4 A
  4. as item 1, but for Block B
  5. as item 2, but for Block B
  6. as item 3, but for Block B

The LEDs for the fiber optic port and the copper ports 1-4 each have the following functions: The lower LED indicates via a permanent light a valid full-duplex connection to another unit. The top LED flashes to indicate an established 100 MBit connection to another unit.
